hakuna matata?
African music looks well on its way to become one of the defining force in the next few years. After the interest generated by Amadou and Mariam, and a bunch of indie bands openly citing african music as an influence, the stage is set for the cheekily name The Very Best. The Very Best is the project of Esau Mwamwaya and Radioclit, and brings the integration of african music in the noughties up a notch. They mix hip-hop, pop, electronic and, of course, african music, whilst sampling M.I.A, Vampire Weekend and even the Beatles! Their first collection of songs have been released, and is available for free here.
