I'm writing this post from Hong Kong, where the internet connection is about thousand times quicker than in Indonesia. Though I'm knackered from exploring the city, I thought I'd post as long I have the chance. This trip itself has brought me the possibility to acquire a few CDs I probably get in Indonesia nor Germany (or at least not as cheap). So far I've bought Arethra's I've Never Loved A Man The Way I Loved You, Bowie's Low, Talking Heads' Fear of Music, and last but not least, the latest Arcade Fire album, Neon Bible. So far Low has impressed me very much as has Neon Bible. I've heard too many songs from the Arethra album, and hearing Fear of Music, I must once again concede, that the versions heard on The Name of The Band is Talking Heads are far more superior and exciting.
Hong Kong itself is a fascinating city. Bustling with life, bright, loud. If I ever get the chance, I wouldn't say no to living here. The city itself has many faces, ranging from skyscrapers, colonial leftovers, chinese shops, crumbling old buildings, shiny new buildings. And the people! It's almost surreal seeing how full the city was, although to be fair, it's a weekend, and there are probably quite a few just wanting to spend their weekend here. Well, I've only been here for 2 days, and still got 6 days to go, so I should have a more definitive impression by the end of my trip. In the meantime I think I'll try to post every night. Welcome to my travel(b)log!
