Funk-a-delic

Yet another pathetic showing of my weak willpower. But I won't dwell on it and just carry on. Another fixture of my 2006 was Funkadelic. Their music sounded like something Jimi Hendrix might have conjure later in his carreer had he been alive longer (Well, I suppose Band of Gypsies did make something in the vein of Funkadelic, but no band has made albums like Funkadelic has made). They first attracted me with Maggot Brain. I downloaded it together with One Nation Under A Groove but didn't listened to it till a year later. And how mind blowing the experience was, cannot be put on paper (or in this case blog). Those two album, though was more structured. The real soul of Funkadelic is for me the first two album, Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow and Funcadelic. It's two long jam sessions with many twists and turns. Not to mention interesting speeches and sounds.
