like dylan in the movie

So... Bob's birthday was last week... not sure how old he's now, but saw the Scorsese documentary about him on tv the other day. Which promted me to listen to his legendary concert at Manchester Trade Hall, the one often mistaken for the Royal Albert Hall concert. The 1st cd consisted of his acoustic performance, and it was a good performance too. But it won't prepare you for the 2nd cd. His electric performance, which has since achieved mythical status, not least because of a guy screaming "Judas" at him, upon which he answered, " I don't believe you, you're a liar". After that he turned around, told his band to "Play Fucking Loud", and launched into Like A Rolling Stone.

That incident aside, it was an incredible perfromance from Dylan. The hard rocking Tell Me Momma has got to be one of the most brilliant rock song never released officially as an album track. Robbie Robertson's fiery lead complimented Bob's vocal delivery on every track, he particularly impressed me on I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We Have Never Met) and Baby, Let Me Follow You Down, both early acoustic songs from Dylan, now electrified. The highlight was naturally Like A Rolling Stone, one of the best Rock & Roll Song ever. Pop and poetry rolled into one, it was the perfect climatic end to a concert.

Here's another famous version of the song:

Anyway, do yourseleves a favour. Hear this one out.
