I made another step into the unknown by buying Talking Heads's first album 77. It lives up to its reputation I must say, with Byrne's vocals undoubtedly their most potent weapon besides their imaginative songwriting. Not to mention Byrne's occasionally obscure/surreal lyrics. The cream of the crop is, for me, undoubtedly Psycho Killer. A killer track like nothing I've heard before, with Tina Weymouth's menacing bass lines keeping you on your toes and lyrics conveying what's in a psycho killer's mind. I'm definitely getting their other albums!
I've found a video of their performance at the Old Grey's Whistle Test from 1978 at You Tube. Enjoy!
